Last Friday was my mom's birthday and we took her out for dinner. Here's what I wore.
It's nice to be able to find preppy clothing that fits. It is getting easier and easier as I get smaller. I just hope my wallet can handle the destruction when I reach my goal weight! Ha ha!

Fashionable Friday: French Hen
French Hen by shopgirlspeaks featuring aviator sunglasses
Last week I splurged on a piece of motivation, the French Hen sweater. I plan on wearing this cute sweater for Thanksgiving. At the moment I would pair it with a pair of Stubbs + Wootten Boom Pow velvet slippers, but I actually may pair it with some brown riding boots. Who knows I still got a bit of time to decide. I can't forget to pair it with my Longchamp Le Pliage tote if I go Black Friday shopping that night. I like keeping my outfits preppy and simple.

Fashionable Friday: A small victory
I have a small victory to announce. I'm a sucker for striped boat neck tops and I purchased a cute kelly green striped one from Ann Taylor Loft in Spring 2009 with the hope that I would fit it by Fall 2009. Well that didn't happen.
Last week I was feeling a bit confident, you know since I was now able to wear a size 16 skinny jean. I thought to myself let me see if that green top I bought a while back fit, and it did!!!! When I originally purchased it the arms and chest were too tight. Not snug, TIGHT! Taking it off was like trying to peel myself out of a wetsuit. Below is a picture of the top.

Fashionable Friday: Back School Style
Well I'm back in school starting off the Spring semester. Only one more year to go! Woo Hoo! Since it's still pretty cold in my neck of the woods (not as cold as most places this time of year) I thought I would share an outfit that is "So me."
It's all about the pearls! You gotta keep it classy!!

Fashionable Friday: More Stripes
If you didn't know by now I LOVE stripes. Especially striped boat neck tops by Land's End, St. James, J. Crew, or the like. I found this shot on Pinterest and I plan on looking like this in my stripe top by year's end...thigh gap and all! Yeah I said it...thigh gap! ;-)

Fashionable Friday: Stripes
I plan on achieving a 60-100 pound weight loss goal for 2013, so I've gotta look cute at the gym. Don't you just love these Lululemon Pants?

Fashionable Friday: Tan is Glam
Today's post was inspired by my blog friend Jane. I love her Fashionable Friday posts because she uses clothes found in her own closet! I think that is awesome! I took the liberty of going through my closet and I found an Ann Taylor dress I bought probably 10 years ago but never wore. It still has the tags on it!
It's a size 14 so being able to wear this dress in a few months is a reality! I bought this dress on clearance and I even had matching red & white striped sandals which I bought a half size too small. I no longer own them because they never fit my feet quite right. So I made a collage showing what I would pair with this dress. What do you think? Have you shopped your closet lately? Have a great weekend!

Kate Spade striped jacket, $478
Pretty Ballerinas ballerina shoes, $245
American Apparel metallic clutch, $46
Rope earrings
TopShop leopard scarve, $32

Fashionable Friday: Arm Candy
Well the first week of the new year is now coming to a close...only 51 more weeks left. How are you doing with your goals and plans for the new year? Me? Um lets just say I look forward to a new day everyday! ;-)
So today I was thinking about what I should post for my fashionable Friday post and I wasn't inspired by any outfit or article of clothing. I was reading Alex's blog and she was modeling the most adorable bag I've seen in a while, at least in my opinion. It's the Prada Galleria Bag take a look at this beauty.
It's available in various colors but the orange just speaks to me...doesn't it to you? ;-) If you know anything about me when im not obsessing over my weight I am obsessing over handbags. I've loved handbags for as long as I can remember. I know preschool age at least. I will spend as much as I can on a designer bag. Because you know what? No matter how fat I get a bag ALWAYS fits! ;-)
So what do you obsess about? Post your fashion obsessions below I would love to hear er read them! Happy weekend!

Fashionable Friday: Refined with a Wild Side
When it comes to fashion I love style but what's most important for me is comfort. Flats and a knit dress are my speed. I would finish off the look with something monogrammed, I think this necklace would do the trick!
Happy Friday!!!

Fashionable Friday: Cocktail Dress
Hello all!!
I hope you are doing well. For the past few months I've been trying to decide what I would like to do for my mom for her 75th birthday. BTW if you ever meet her please don't let her know you know her age. According to her she is 26.
Anyway, I want to take her out to a really nice restaurant. Not sure where yet. She loves Caribbean and Hispanic food so rice and pork will have to be on the menu. Well I'm still in search of that place. I would like to wear a cocktail dress to the dinner so I thought this dress would be nice to wear.

Fashionable Friday: Missoni for Target
The day is almost here my fashionistas! Mark your calendars...The Missoni brand hits the Target on September 13th!! I've been an admirer of the brand for many years but don't have the disposable income let alone the size to wear one of their famous sweater dresses. But that may change now that Target will be featuring their goods for about a month!
Here is what I would like:
Have a great weekend!!!

Fashionable Friday: Welcome Fall...er sort of!
Being a blog junkie I frequent quite a few blogs. I've been so inspired by all the fall looks being published that I had to jump in and participate!
Living in Florida we don't experience fall weather until about December...maybe. I miss living up north and going for drives to see the leaves change. I would give anything to take a deep breath of cool, crisp, clean air. Kicking piles of leaves, apple picking, and hay rides, that's my idea of fall.
What are you most looking forward to now that fall is almost upon us? Post below.
Have a Happy Labor Day!!!

Fashionable Friday: Boatnecks & Cardis & Animal Prints...Oh My!
I love classic preppy looks and as always J Crew delivers. I am a very casual dresser. Jeans, boatneck tee shirt or blouse and a cardigan or sweater set. Since I have quite a large chest I typically opt for the twinset as opposed to a shirt and blazer. I always feel like a linebacker in women's clothing when i wear a blazer. So I choose the twinset and top it with my signature pearls. One thing I look forward to when I achieve my goal weight is wearing a blazer.
{steve madden shoes, scout bag}
My go to staple shoe is a loafer or ballet flat. I love flats. Whether they're boring or unique I just love em! Heels...I'll pass. Now when I get to my goal weight maybe that will change...but for now gimme FLATS!
So what is your casual style? Post your comments below. Thanks for stopping by. Happy weekend!!!

See Banana Republic’s Complete Mad Men Collection
Hello you Fashionistas!
Monday I received this month's Lucky Magazine and there it was, an ad for the MadMen collection at Banana Republic!!!! I don't watch the tv show but I do LOVE fashions from the 50's and 60's! Unfortunately when I went to Banana Republic's website for images there were none. Here are a few images I found on StyleCaster.
The link below will take you to a slideshow of the new collection as well.
See Banana Republic’s Complete Mad Men Collection
Fashion silhouettes from the 50's to about the mid-60's are by far my favorite. Ladies were dressed like ladies and not hookers. I know that statement is a bit harsh but I'm about tired of the skinny jeans, sequin tops, and 6 inch platform hooker stiletos look. I think women can wear clothing that enhances their figure without having to wear something skimpy or too revealing. Let's leave something to the imagination ladies.
I also love 80's preppy...argyle sweaters, Lacoste shirts, Sperry topsider shoes, and Tretorn sneakers, there isn't anything like it!!! What era do your favorite fashions come from? Do you wear them now or will your wear them when you get closer to your goal weight? Post your comments below, I can't wait to see what you post!
